As the opening credits roll, the camera pans around Earth. Just when his feet brutally hit the ground, rockets fly everywhere and hit the helicopter, blacking the player out. A man who seems to be the commanding officer jumps out of the helicopter first. The game starts as US Army Rangers are in the back of a helicopter, flying over a snowy valley. The game also has players controlling Tier 2 operatives (US Army Rangers) and Tier 3 operatives (10th Mountain Division). Tier 1 operators are trained in counter terrorism and can only be deployed by the President or the Defense Secretary. These operators are part of the United States Naval Special Warfare Development Group. He is currently referred to as a "Tier 1 Operator," nicknamed "Cowboy", and works for the National Command Authority. One of Medal of Honor's main protagonists, pictured on the box art, is rumored to be a real veteran of the current war in Afghanistan. The Tier 1 operators that the player play as did not exist even though certain team mates of the player00 such as Dusty have existed in the past. This airfield really exists and has been under US control since December 2001. In the game, the player is tasked with capturing the Bagram Airfield. Of course, the Generals and Colonels leading the operation don't have the same names as the ones who lead the actual operation (Anaconda was lead in real life by LTG. The operation involved both US and Afghan forces, like in the game, and the Taliban suffered losses of about 500 causalities which is probably the body count the player will find themselves with by the end of the game. In campaign the player will control several Tier 1 Operators, that liken themselves as the "scalpel" of the U.S. As such, frequent resupply from either a Heavy Gunner or Fireteam Buddy is essential when using the MP7.Medal of Honor focuses on the 2001 invasion of Afghanistan, referred to as "Operation Enduring Freedom", as the US led invasion forces fight Taliban insurgents. Ammunition conservation is also vital when using the weapon, as the player can only hold 3 magazines in reserve. Despite its low damage per shot, its high rate of fire and controllable recoil makes up for this when fired fully-automatically. This characteristic does compliment the use of a suppressor, as the reduced range of the silencer does not drastically effect the MP7, due to its small difference between the maximum and minimum damage values. The MP7's accuracy is good, at least at a short-medium distance, but its large damage drop-off makes the weapon unsuitable for long range engagements. The quick reload time helps when facing multiple targets, since the magazines empty quickly. Having the highest rate of fire of all the primary weapons, the MP7 has a very quick time-to-kill in close quarters combat, and its status as a Personal Defence Weapon grants the user fast movement. Itʹs light weight and rate of fire make it a formidable weapon." - Battlelog Description (Sic)In Multiplayer, the MP7 is available for the Spec Ops class.
